Former PhD Students
Jeroen van der VaartI am a lecturer and postdoc at the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Groningen (the Netherlands). In July 2024, I successfully defended my Ph.D. thesis.
I am an applied microeconometrician who works on the economics of aging, particularly the intersection of health, saving behavior, and social insurance. In my job market paper, I examine the determinants of long-term care use, including informal care provision, the need for care, and economic resources. Ziwei Rao
I am a postdoctoral researcher at University of Helsinki working with Mikko Myrskyla within the FLUX consortium. Before that, I was a PhD candidate in Economics between 2018 and 2022 at the University of Groningen. My research interests include applied microeconomics, labor economics, and demographic and family studies.
